Sage Payroll – Check Employee and Employer PRSI rates are correct
From time to time the Government may announce a change to the employee and/or employer PRSI rates to be charged in Irish payrolls. This could be as part of the annual budget or in an independent announcement throughout the year. Sage will in turn update the Sage Payroll Irl software to include the new rates and/or bands. Once you have applied the Sage Payroll software update, it is advisable to ensure that the new rates are in fact being applied to your payroll. To do this , we advise the following 2 ways
-
Check the PRSI and Earning Bands Tables
-
- Log on to your Software as Administrator
-
- Select Tables- then PRSI Table
-
- The following table will be displayed. Please check the rates against the gov.ie website https://www.gov.ie/pdf/?file=https://assets.gov.ie/235790/1f7aa00c-0978-46df-9576-4b51dd3826f7.pdf
-
- Next select Tables and PRSI Earning Bands
-
- The following table will be displayed. Please check the rates against the gov.ie website https://www.gov.ie/pdf/?file=https://assets.gov.ie/235790/1f7aa00c-0978-46df-9576-4b51dd3826f7.pdf
If any of the rates or bands are incorrect, please log on to your pc with full Administration rights and re-install the Sage Payroll Software update and test again.
2. Check the PRSI calculations on the Payslip
-
- When processing in the next payroll after the software update, check the payslip calculation of PRSI for a sample of employees
If any of the rates or bands are incorrect, please log on to your pc with full Administration rights and re-install the Sage Payroll Software update and test again.
If PRSI was processed historically at the incorrect rate, you will need to either restore a backup and reprocess each period or make amendments to the ETP for each employee – https://ie-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=200427112314327
