While we are luckily sitting in gorgeous warmth here in mid September I’ve been thinking about the phrase “Make Hay while the Sunshines”.  The saying has been around for hundreds of years. First appearing in 1546 in John Heywood’s “A dialogue containing the number in effect of all the proverbs in the English tongue.”

As hundreds of years ago, it would take many days for farmers to cut, dry and gather hay. Today, it’s much easier to make hay because of our modern machinery and eh ahem “accurate” weather forecasting.

Nowadays we use the phrase generally to mean to take advantage of fortuitous circumstances before the chance slips away.

This proverb, like so many others, offers good advice. Opportunities may only come along every so often.

In all businesses it’s good to take stock of a situation and realise when an advantage presents itself. If you can act on it before it slips away, you’ll have made hay while the sun shone!

Here in Pimbrook we firmly believe in helping our customers to make hay… or cakes…. or cars, or whatever it is you make or provide to YOUR customers.  And make your so called hay cutting as easy as possible.

So call us on 051 395 900, or email us and we’ll come and help you find a Sage accounts or Sage payroll solution that fits your hay field. Be it in the cloud, or your car. Or actually in a field.
