Pimbrook Statement on the GDPR
Pimbrook Statement on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Overview
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) effective from 25th May 2018 will replace current data protection laws in the European Union. This new law will give individuals greater control over their data and also imposes corresponding obligations on organisations that collect and use this personal data. For our summary of this regulation with links to further information please see GDPR Pimbrook Summary.
Pimbrook and the GDPR
Pimbrook take the privacy and protection of all the data that we collect very seriously and have been carrying out our own data protection review over the past few months. As part of this we have updated our policies and procedures to come in line with the GDPR. We have also engaged with the manufacturers of the products we supply (e.g. Sage 50, Sage Payroll, etc.) to find out how these products can be used to assist our customers with their GDPR compliance.
Policy and Procedure Updates
Pimbrook collect and use information during our normal business operation. Some of this information may be deemed as personal data and as such is subject to the GDPR. We have updated our privacy and data protection polices to outline what data we use and how we handle this. These are available on our website, see our Privacy Policy. We have also reviewed our internal procedures and systems and instructed our staff to ensure we implement these policies.
Service Agreements
Pimbrook offer our customers a software support service, this is provided through a service agreement which is our legal basis for collecting any data required for this service. The terms and conditions of this agreement have been updated to reference our privacy policy in compliance with the GDPR, see our Support Service Terms and Conditions. By paying the invoice issued for this service a customer accepts these terms and conditions and can use the service on that basis.
Product Information
Software applications on their own cannot make an organisation GDPR compliant but there are features and ways to use the software that we supply that can help our customers with their GDPR requirements. We have produced the following guides on these products to outline their use with the GDPR.
