Sage Payroll Install (Micropay)

Check your version number

Follow the steps below to check your current software version.

1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland and log in to your payroll as normal.
2. Go to Help, then System Information.
3. Check your current version number:
   • If it’s v29.2, you already have the latest version and don’t need to install an update
   • If it’s v29.1 or below, continue to follow the steps below

Before you update your software

Complete these steps to ensure a smooth installation:

1. Go to Help, then System Information.
2. Note the path to your Program Directory and Data Directory.
3. Back up your data.
4. Follow the prepare to update your software article.

Download and install the update

Continue to the steps below to update the existing installation on your computer.

1. Close Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.
2. Select the link below to download the installer:
   • Download Sage 50 Payroll Ireland v29.2
3. Once the download is complete, open your Downloads folder.
4. Right-click Sage Payroll v29.2 Install.exe, then select Run as administrator.
5. To confirm that you accept the licence terms select the checkbox, then select Next.
6. Select This Computer, then Next.
7. Choose one of the following options:
   • Typical: To accept the default program and data folder locations
   • Custom: To change the program and data folder locations
8. Select Next.
9. Select the Add shortcuts to my desktop checkbox, then select Install.
10. When the installation completes, select Finish.

Confirm successful installation

Follow the steps below to check you successfully installed the update:

1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland 2026 and log in to your Payroll.
2. Go to Help, then System Information.
3. Check the version number:
   • If it’s v29.2, your software is up to date
   • If it’s v29.1 or below, repeat the installation steps above, ensuring you run the installer as administrator
